Simon Davie

As CEO and Managing Partner, Simon works with the Partners to shape the future direction of Terra, to pursue opportunities and partnerships for the firm and to guide the day-to-day workings of a staff of experienced professionals.

Simon joined Terra in 1998 and became a principal in 2003. Simon has worked in the affordable housing industry for over 25 years providing development expertise to non-profit organizations. His experience incorporates due consideration for the varying business risk-tolerance that non-profit organizations as part of developing specific approaches to developing and managing real estate for Terra clients. He has specialized expertise in deal origination for social housing development.

Simon co-founded Lu’ma Development Management in 2017 and moved all of Terra’s Indigenous business to LDM as Vice-President, Strategic Advisor. This resulted in significant growth in new clients as well as hiring and developing capacity with Indigenous staff. Terra and LDM have worked extensively with Indigenous groups to develop housing, build community capacity, and empower communities. Simon continues a close involvement in project work and corporate growth. The companies work together and share resources and expertise.

Prior to joining Terra, Simon worked in construction management, property management and marketing. Simon has experience with major developers as a Construction Safety Officer, including the City Lights Equity Housing Cooperative, where he was also an Assistant Superintendent and a founding member. Simon graduated from Queens University with a BA in Urban Geography, holds a Certificate in Real Estate Appraisal from Langara College in Vancouver and has completed professional development courses at UBC and MIT.
