Lydia Howard
As Development Coordinator Lydia actively oversees the development and execution of projects through managing communication flow, documents, and meeting coordination in collaboration with Terra Partners and staff.
Lydia joined Terra in 2024, bringing her passion for people-centered solutions to her work coordinating Terra projects in northern BC.
Lydia immigrated to Canada from Aotearoa (New Zealand), and now lives on the traditional, unceded Wet’suwet’en territory in Smithers, BC, with her husband and two children. Lydia’s professional experience includes public policy, communications, capacity building for non-profit organizations, and advancing culturally safe affordable housing for Indigenous communities.
Lydia has a BA from Otago University (NZ) and a Master of Arts from Royal Roads University, where her postgraduate research focused on intervention design and the connections between trauma and housing insecurity. Outside of work, Lydia writes, illustrates, and enjoys outdoor adventures with her family.
