Holmberg House | Abbotsford Hospice Society

Holmberg House is the first adult hospice in Abbotsford, providing hospice care for people as young as 19 who are facing a terminal illness. Terra worked with the Abbotsford Hospice Society to complete this 10-bed hospice with amenities including lounges, a library and a serenity garden. The building also accommodates grief support groups, volunteer training, education seminars, and one-on-one support services.

At Holmberg House, the care team is able to provide a hospice plus model of care. This means that people who need certain treatments like some intravenous medications, can now receive them in a hospice setting without having to be transferred to the hospital and supports patients so that they are living their final days in comfort.

Holmberg House is part of the Dave Lede Campus of Care, which includes Matthews House, a facility providing respite care to children from across BC who live with complex physical needs and Dave Lede House (part of the Canucks Place organization) which provides in-hospice care for children with progressive, life-threatening illnesses. Terra provided development management services to the Dave Lede Campus of Care including working to develop the common underground parkade and siteworks.
